An RTS game like no other

Developed by METALLADLERSTUDIO, Ratten Reich is an upcoming premium RTS game that will immerse players in a steampunk-dieselpunk world ravaged by ceaseless warfare among rats, mice, cockroaches, and lizards. Unlike the usual strategy games that involve warring factions of humans, this unique title features little critters commonly found in the household.

The war in Ratten Reich spans three distinct areas, each with different circumstances — the Central, Eastern, and Desert continents. Each continent’s disposition challenges players to adapt their strategies and leverage the environment to gain the upper hand in combat. Meanwhile, the realistic combat mechanics promise an engaging and brutal gaming experience.

The war-torn world

The world of Ratten Reich is torn apart by war. The constant clash of rats, mice, cockroaches, and lizards and unyielding violence has decimated any hope for peace. One of the game’s standout features is its fully destructible environments. Every structure can be demolished, allowing for a range of tactical approaches in storming enemy positions. This dynamic element forces players to consider shelter options strategically, as the battlefield continuously evolves

There are three continents to choose from, such as the Central Continent with heavily fortified military bases, the Eastern Continent with marshy wetlands, and the Desert Continent with vast expanses of exposed land. Moreover, there are four factions, each armed with an arsenal of vehicles of infantry — RR for Rats, FMR for Mice, ERS for Lizards, and RD for Monitor Lizards. Plus, with random events integrated, every playthrough won’t be the same.

Furthermore, the game employs customizable hotkeys, so players can streamline their command interface and achieve efficient unit and ability management. Bullet tracers are there for accurate visual tracking during combat. Players can also take advantage of unit markers, rally points, and traps to secure their victory. Each session can also be assessed via the post-game statistics. Currently there aren’t any multiplayer game options in the early access stage, limiting gameplay to solo campaigns.

A compelling choice

Overall, Ratten Reich is an extraordinary RTS game that immerses players in a war-torn world where rats, mice, cockroaches, and lizards battle for dominance. With its distinct setting, destructible environments, and diverse tactical challenges, the game offers a fresh take on the genre. The dynamic and evolving battlefields, coupled with the detailed unit management system, promise a deep and engaging strategy experience.
